Medical Examiner’s ReportWhen the body was found, it was in a pretty advanced state of decay, so the time of death could not be determined. The individual died sometime between the early morning hours of July 20 and within 24 hours of when the body was found. The victim appeared to be a normal 22 year old woman, there were no fractures, entrance or exit wounds from sharp objects. However, due to the condition of the body, blunt force trauma can not be ruled out. There is no evidence of organ injury or disease in the lungs, no trace of drugs, poisons or heavy metals. Within a reasonable degree of probability, it can be concluded that the victim died of asphyxia either from the tape on her nose and mouth or from drowning. The young woman appears to have been about 8 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. The manner of death appears to be homicide.
